This weeks treasury list, inspired by the perfect summer we're having here (funny enough just as I'm writing this there's a really severe thunderstorm going on out there...).

I just discovered how much fun it is to make treasury lists on Etsy! I could spend hours and hours on that website looking for gorgeous stuff anyway, but yeah well, time's limited.. So to get a bit more organized I decided I am going to make one treasury list per week and share all my latest discoveries on my blog. Treasury lists are a great way to promote other artists on Etsy and at the same time make people aware of your own shop.

After two weeks of not having done so much sewing and designing (in my defense I have to say my dad was visiting from Germany and I was kinda busy showing him around the area) it's now time for me to get back to work.
I had my dad bring me back some special interfacing for bagmaking from Germany that I wasn't able to get a hold of in the US so far. It's called Decovil and is quite different to the interfacing and fleece I usually use. It feels a little bit like leather and give bags and purses a really professional looking shape, just like you would find it with store-bought items. At the same time it is still bendable but also provides a great amount of stability. 

I used it for my new wallet design. A trifold wallet that closes with a popper snap on a tab. There is plenty of room for your credit cards (12 card slots to be precise), two large pockets for bills, receipts or a checkbook and a roomy zip pocket for coins. This piece is already listed in my etsy shop but I am currently working on more wallets made after this design.

I can finally add a new design to my shop! I have been making a lot of bigger sized bags lately, so right now I feel like going back to smaller items. A few weeks ago while on my trip home to Germany I went to two classical concerts and to the opera and realized, mh, I wasn’t really prepared for this – bagwise. I extra brought some nice pants with me plus I always bring some sort of extra large scarf with me – items you can wear everyday but which can also easily turn an outfit into a nice evening dress. So, no problem so far. The thing was, I only brought my peach hobo with me, which is not exactly what you want to carry when you go to the opera. So what to do? Problems like this are easily solved when you love sewing and there’s a fabric store in the neighborhood!

I bought this really beautiful black/silver fabric and turned it into a nice little evening bag. It closes with a magnetic snap and has a slip pocket as well as a small zip pocket on the inside. To add a little uniqueness to the design I decided to go with a purple zipper! Looks pretty neat, doesn't it? The size is just enough to fit the few items in there you would usually carry with you when you go to a concert (such as wallet, ticket, mints, a handkerchief, maybe some glasses..?).

I was going to go for a clutch first, but decided against it. It would have looked even more sophisticated, I agree. But things that aren’t convenient very easily annoy me and so I decided against it. With the adjustable strap and the pretty buckle it still makes a very posh appearance!
